Mr. Basketball Cedrick Wallace To Be Honored November 21

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of his selection as Mr. Basketball for the State of Tennessee, Lawrence County High School will honor Cedrick Wallace on Friday, November 21, 2014, with the hanging of his Mr. Basketball Banner.

Cedrick was chosen as Mr. Basketball in 1995. Listed as a 6’3 senior and the all-time leading scorer for LCHS,

Cedrick developed into a versatile player averaging 8.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game while leading the 1995 Wildcats with an impressive 31.7 points per game while shooting 66% from the floor.

Selected by the District 8AAA Coaches as the Player of the Year, he and his teammates won the District 8AAA title, the first title in 24 years concluding the season with a record of 24-6.

Impressive statistics garnered him attention from colleges and universities. Cedrick signed with Mississippi State and later transferred to Middle Tennessee State University. After college, he played several seasons in Europe.

The recognition of Cedrick Wallace will take place at the beginning of the varsity boys’ game on Friday, November 21, 2014.
